How to set up a perfect “rescue USB” that can save any PC
How to set up a perfect “rescue USB” that can save any PC
Saving a PC can go from very hard to extremely easy once you set this up. When a computer encounters a critical failure—such as a corrupted Windows installation, a broken master boot record, or a severe malware infection—the internal operating system often becomes inaccessible. And in these scenarios, the computer cannot boot normally, rendering the data inside seemingly unreachable. This is where the rescue USB functions as a lifeline. By changing the boot order in the computer’s BIOS or UEFI settings, the machine loads the operating system residing on the USB stick rather than the faulty internal drive.

On July 16, 2025, Nathan May, a 20-year-old Colorado State University student with no criminal record, was pulled over in Fort Collins, Colorado, for driving without his headlights on. He volunteered for roadside sobriety tests before being asked and blew 0.000 on a breath test. Officers Trevor Cacciatore and Vince Hooley arrested him for driving under the influence of drugs, searched his car, and found nothing. His blood was sent to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, which reported no alcohol and no drugs detected. The department's response was to request additional testing. In October 2025, the district attorney dismissed the case, stating there was "no reasonable likelihood of success at trial." Creating a 48GB NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU | Brother Zhang's Repair Shop (ft. 张哥) [35:20]
Sponsor: Arctic Freezer 36 Air Cooler on Amazon https://geni.us/5VdU1 We hand-make a 48GB RTX 4090 NVIDIA GPU with Zhang Ge in China, finally releasing our full shop tour of his GPU repair facility. With never-before-seen footage of his shop in combination with our prior-shown footage of the 48GB mod, we show the industry in China keeping old video cards alive and circulating for users. Customers include everyone from gaming users trying to save money on a repair rather than a replacement to enterprise users. Gamers can get a far better deal asking Zhang to repair their video card, sometimes for around $140 US, rather than buying a totally new video card. In particular due to export controls, this can be useful to keeping hard-to-get silicon in circulation. Enterprise users sometimes want 10-20 48GB RTX 4090s at once for training or inference tasks. Zhang's team is incredibly talented at GPU repair and modding, and we appreciate the time they took to welcome us in. This video exists because we hit a stretch goal for one of our supporter campaigns. Our current campaign is the AI DYSTOPIA series if you'd like to support more content like this. LG owns the glass: what you see, what say, what you watch. You cannot rewire/modify hardware w/o infringing on copyright and other laws. You agree to terms not even ready when you purchased TV. You agree to future terms, you agree not to sue. It would take 4-8 hours to read the terms you agree to and a like number of hours for partners to read additional terms. Everything you say can be transmitted and stored in words (meta data) your actual voice is also stored shorter period of time but it also has your voice. All devices it finds are logged and will even try to sign in to a neighbor's wifi to send back data if your wifi is disconnected. If you opt out it will immediately send all data it stored locally to itself so it can correlate any connections later with data it no longer collects so it would still be able to match who you are and others with your voice (80 feet) and devices in use.

Why They Removed Thousands of Unbroken Windows [20:40]
Why They Removed Thousands of Unbroken Windows [20:40]
Boston’s John Hancock Tower was supposed to be a seamless mirrored-glass skyscraper. Instead, windows started falling and plywood filled the gaps. The city called it the Plywood Palace. But the broken windows were only part of the story. Why were thousands of panes that hadn’t broken deliberately taken out? This animated true story follows the investigation: damaged glass, competing explanations, laboratory tests, and the problem of deciding which windows could safely stay. By June 1973, roughly 2,400 panes had been removed. Ultimately, all 10,344 original panes were replaced. The tower stands in Boston’s Copley Square and is now known as 200 Clarendon Street. Strange on Record tells extraordinary true stories where the fun is figuring out how they actually happened.
