Google Just Killed Websites. It's Not Good. [14:33]

In this video, we explore how Google's AI search revolution is reshaping the web, why millions of searches now end without visiting a single website, how Reddit became one of the biggest winners, and why many experts believe the open internet is entering a dangerous new phase. The company that once organized the web may now be consuming it.

If Google keeps readers and websites lose their audience, what happens when there’s nobody left creating the knowledge AI depends on?

World's biggest PC companies DROPS Windows - YouTube [22:09]
World's biggest PC companies DROPS Windows - YouTube [22:09]

This video explores the shifting landscape of the PC industry in 2026, where major manufacturers like Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Asus are moving away from the long-standing default of pre-installing Windows.

Economic Pressure: PC manufacturers pay significant license fees to Microsoft ($50-$80 per device), which heavily impacts thin profit margins (1:40 - 2:30). The video argues that we are witnessing a slow, quiet erosion of Windows' dominance rather than a sudden collapse. Manufacturers are realizing they no longer need to be tied to a single software partner, and governments globally are increasingly looking toward open-source solutions to reduce reliance on foreign-owned software (16:48 - 22:10).

Opinion: Questions for Chicago police about Albany Park ICE probe
Opinion: Questions for Chicago police about Albany Park ICE probe
Earlier this month, Chicago saw one of the highest levels of federal immigration agent activity since Operation Midway Blitz. On June 2, during a chaotic chase and detainment, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents crashed into a woman’s car, dropped a magazine of live ammunition in a crowded neighborhood and threatened residents who were documenting the incident. By Friday afternoon of that same week, the Chicago Police Department had closed its investigation, classified the crash as “non-criminal” and said there were no additional investigative leads — this despite the wealth of video and photo evidence that residents and nearby businesses reported collecting. The Chicago Sun Times reported that an insurance agent handling the claim of the woman whose car was damaged has not heard back from CPD or federal officials and that ICE had given him the “runaround.”

By Joe Wilkins, Published Jun 6, 2026 9:30 AM EDT It’s no secret by now that the Chinese tech sector is going all-in on robotics. Last September, the country broke the record for the number of industrial robots in operation; the People’s Republic likewise produces about 90 percent of the world’s humanoid robots, which factories and kiosks are experimenting with across the country.

It's a major milestone for renewable energy. By Victor Tangermann, Published Jun 11, 2026 8:49 AM EDT It’s never been more obvious that there are far better alternatives. Case in point, according to global energy think tank Ember, solar power generation overtook coal for the first time in US history last month: in May, solar made up 12.8 percent of all electricity generation, compared to 12.2 percent of coal.

Fox to buy Roku for $22 billion to reach streaming customers. Roku City will soon have a new sheriff in town: Fox Corp. has agreed to purchase Roku in a cash-and-stock deal for $160 per share that would give it access to the 100 million global households with purple buttons on their remotes. The deal, expected to close next year, combines Fox’s sports, news, and entertainment content (and the streaming company it already bought, Tubi) with Roku’s popular platform, marking a big move into streaming for Fox as traditional TV’s popularity wanes. “This is a defining moment for Fox,” Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch said, calling it a “natural extension” of the company’s strategy. Roku was $140.90 on Mondays close. [Wish I could remember exactly what Lenny Thomas said but he had a specific reason for Fox taking over Tubi earlier, so he refused to watch anything on Tubi. This video clip illustrates the problem https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2NbPsSPezZ/?hl=en]

Interesting image in this morning brew newsletter: woman sitting on hood of car; is the car parked or in traffic and is the woman resting or is there just no room in the car for the wife. (Can't find that picture)

How I Would Invest $2 Million To Retire On Dividends | Seeking Alpha
How I Would Invest $2 Million To Retire On Dividends | Seeking Alpha

Working with dividends $1M today would definitely require SS supplement to live 30 years comfortably after retirement against inflation of you had been making $80K before retiring. So $2M would definitely be much better. But it really indicates to me that investing would keep up with inflation much better overall as long as you can beat index funds. When I was working I could not check how I was doing nor realize that my company's 401K not only did not increase in value but it lost all of the matching funds.
